(N.Z. Press Association) NAPIER, Feb. 13.
A searching aircraft this afternoon found the overdue Napier trawler Mercury heading back to port. The Mercury, a 36ft vessel, was due back at Napier on Monday after a crayfishing trip along the coast south of Napier. When she failed to return and did not call coastad radio stations, a chartered plane began a search.
The plane spotted the boat 30 miles sooth of Napier. It flew low over the Mercury and everything appeared on board to be normal.
It is understood that only two persons, Neil Donaldson and his wife, are on board the Mercury.
