Bakers Given Pay Increase
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 11. Pay increases are included in a new award for bakers and pastrycooks issued by the Arbitration Court. The wage award allows a 5s 6d increase to foreman bakers or pastrycooks and journeyman bakers or pastrycooks, and 4s increase for all other adult male workers Allowances are also made for employment of female assistants on a casual basis at 4s lOd an hour with a minimum of three hours’ payment for any one day.
