BOEING FLIGHTS TO CITY
Regular Visits Next Antarctic Season
Although no firm application has yet been made by American authorities, it is expected that United States Air Force Boeings will regularly visit the Christchurch airport during the next Antarctic season
Boeings will be used almost exclusively to carry scientists and servicemen engaged on United States Antarctic operations between the United, States and New Zealand' The Boeing is now pencilled in as the replacement aircraft for the DC6’s. which have done much of this work in the past. The first of 14 Boeing 707 flights to Christchurch is due next Wednesday. The latest tentative arrival dates are February 6, 17, 22, and 25. March 4. 7, 17, 18, 19, 22 and 25, and April 2,3, and 4. Each aircraft will depart the next day.
