OBJECTION TO PLACING
Papers Not Produced (N.Z, Press Association) DUNEDIN, January 31. Before the Forbury Park meeting tonight the chief stipendiary steward, Mr L. A. Butterfield, lodged an objection against the third placing being awarded to Dorothy Jean, owned by T. R. Allison and trained by G. W. Pankhurst, in the Summer Handicap, run on January 26, on the grounds that the horse, together with the copy of the application for registration, was not produced to a stipendiary steward as required by rule 119 (1). After hearing the evidence from the stipendiary stewards and from the owner, T. R. Allison, it was decided to disqualify Dorothy Jean from the race.
It was also found that T. R. Allison failed to produce the registration as required by rule 119 (1). He was fined £2O.
Medieval Loses Placing (N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, January 31. After the running of the Leith Handicap at Forbury Park tonight, an objection was lodged against the second placing being awarded to Medieval, owned by Mr L. H. Jones, on the grounds of galloping.
After the evidence had been heard, It was decided to disqualify Medieval. Snap On was promoted to second. Rebel to third and Oro Brigade to fourth.
