U.S. Strike Cut N.Z. Cargo

The Tyrone came Into Auckland yesterday without twothirds of its intended New York cargo because of the recent waterfront strike at east coast American ports. The strike began on December 23 and ended last SaturaXmong the cargo left in NewYork were tractors, graders and loaders for Auckland and South Island ports. Only a small part of the machinery shipment, worth £250.000, arrived in the Tyrone. The rest will be shipped m the Port Wimbledon now loading at New York and due tn early March.
