Catholic
Sir, Today's quotation from foe Anglican “Obureh and People” is unworthy of “The Press.*’ By substituting "Gattwtic” throughout the quotation where foe original had “Roman Catholic’’ an insult has been paid to all who hold passionately foait their Church is truly CMh&ac. For a Roman Catholic to deny the Ostboßtity of another Church is one thing. To misquote is another. As this has been common in past months (but never so blatant) I quote a resolution of foe Wellington Synod:’ “. . . drawn the attention of the New Zeeland Newspaper Proprietors’ Association, and the public generally, to foe fact that the Church of England has always been a pert of Christ’s ' Holy Catholic Church and is, as her names implies, the Ancient Catholic and Apostolic Church of foe English People.” Yours, etc.,
MARTIN WARREN. St Christopher’s Vicarage. January 30, 1963.
