LORDSHIP TO MEET FALSEHOOD

Feature Of Heats At Forbury Tomorrow

DUNEDIN, January 29.

The clash between Lordship and Falsehood, the two first night beat winners, which was expected to take place on Saturday in the £2650 final, will now take place in the Third Qualifying Heat of the Dunedin Festival Cup on Thursday.

'The Forbury Parte Club has rather surprisingly drawn these two outstanding pacers in the one heat and as a result the final could be an anti-climax to the meeting.

The outstanding form of Lordship and Falsehood this season suggests that they are a class above most of their rivals and their wins last Saturday confirmed this.

The dub's decision to place them in the coe heat could have been influenced by the fact that Loedshi paod Falsehood would have restricted betting on separate beats. But by putting them together, turnover on their heat could be increased. The other beet on Thursday as a result looks extremely open, with solid support expected for at least lour bones.

Lordship should prove much too brilliant, tor Falsehood at the difference of only six yards in toe handicaps. However, when they met in the Lightning Mile at Addington on January 1, Falsehood forced all the pace and was worn down only after a stem struggle in the straight and was beaten by half a length by Lordship. Scottish Light, Ballista and Oreti form a likely trio in the Fourth Heat but there will be solid support for the Oamnru pacer, Sun Chief. Scottish Light had his first start since November when he finished boldly for third to Lordship and Light Mood on Saturday. He is an improved home as a result of that run and worked in a most encouraging manner this morning. Scottish Light is a splendid sprinter and he could make an overdue return to winning form in this race.
