GISBORNE. THE Makaraka Cemetery, near Gisborne, was officially closed m 1915, and the Council now has under consideration a proposal to clear all graves of monuments, fences, etc., and to re-site as many monuments as possible on a concrete base located at one side of the cemetery. Any graves now kept in good order, also the monument to the victims of the Te Kooti massacre, will not be disturbed. The cemetery would be then levelled, regrassed, and maintained as a reserve. Any person objecting to this proposal is required to submit his or her objection in writing stating the grounds thereof as well as relationship to the deceased person concerned. 8690 SELWYN COUNTY COUNCIL SPECIAL ORDER NOTICE is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Selwyn County Council, held on December 11, 1962, the following resolution was passed and will be submitted for confirmation as a Special Order at the ordinary meeting of tbe Council, to be (held in the Council Chambers, i Hororata, at 1.15 p.m. on Tuesday.
