(N.Z. Press Association) , AUCKLAND, Jan. 30. Stanley Matthews, son of the famous British soccer player, j* » member of the four-man British lawn tennis team which arrived in Auckland by air tonight. Although he played soccer when younger, Matthews has leaned towards tennis and has been riven every encouragement by his parents. At 17 he has already made a big Impression in Britain, where he has won the junior championship three years in succession, taking hie first title at the age of 14. He etui has another ranks bcfora le,v, ng junior G. Stilwell (17) M. Cox (10). * nd Taylor (11) make up the rest of the team. Cox is ranked eighth in Britain and Taylor ninth. Mr D. C.
