SCRUB FIRE AT WAIOURU
Territorials Aid Forest Men

WANGANUI. Jan. 29. Forty territorials of the 4th Medium Battery have been assisting more than 30 men from the Forest Service to fight a scrub fire on the Desert road. 17 miles north of Waiouru.
The servicemen, who come from the Hamflton area, first noticed the fire yesterday, find fought ft until they believed it to be out It flared op again this morning, however, and by tonight had swept through more than 009 acres, burning on a half-mile front Two Forest Service tankers and craws tomorrow will make an effort to contain ths fire, which to assisted by a 15 miles an hour wind and to moving towards the dry grasses near the snowline.
