Suspended For Interference

AUCKLAND, January 28.

R. G. Forbes, the rider of Fiil’gn.r tn the Moana Handicap at Ellerslie today, was suspended up to and including February 9 for causing interference to Nestlebrae (R. J. Jury), GaUiard (J. F. Grylls) and Brown Hair (A. M. Dulieu) about threequarters of a furlong from the finish.

Evidence- was heard from Mr H. P. Duncan, stipendiary steward, Mr B. McFadden, assistant stipendiary steward, and the riders concerned.

J. S. Humphries was fined £lO for breaking a riding engagement on King Filou to the Graham High-weight. Evidence was heard from Mr R. Robinson, a part-owner of King Filou, and Humphries. A statement was received from Humphries’s employer, L. W. Ford.

Broadcast From Hutt Park

Arrangements have been made by the IJew Zealand Broadcasting Corporation to have a direct broadcast fr«m Hutt Park Raceway of the arrival of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh at the Wellington Trotting Club's Royal meeting on February 11

The broadcast, which will be relayed through all YA stations, will also include a commentary on the Queen Elizabeth Handicap, which is timed to start at 910 pm The broadcast will commence at 855 pm and conclude at 920 pm. The remaining seven races on the programme will be recorded and broadcast from 2YA at 830 pm. and 1030 pm. ,
