9000 Dollars For Burke

The American veteran golfer, Jackie Burke, today had a final four-under-scratch round of 67 to win the international open golf championship here with a 72-hole score of 276. Burke beat off a challenge by Don January in the final steeAch to win the first prize of 9000 dollars, United Frees Intewtattontol reported. January, who started the day by leading the field by one stroke, had an even scratch 71 and a 279 total to take second place. He collected 4000 doUan. Three others tied at 280 to share third place. Gary Player, of South Africa, had the best final round with a 64. He finished with a total of 283. Arnold Palmer, who made only one birdie in the last 30 holes of play, had a 74 today to finish with 285. The defending champion. Gene Littler, ended with a 288, 14 strokes more than he took last year. He had a final round of 74.
