ASSAULTED POLICEMAN
Three Youths Sentenced (NX Pr»«s Association) INVERCARGILL, Jan. 28 An assault on a police sergeant and a constable last Saturday night bad its sequel in the Magistrate’s Court at Invercargill today when three youths appeared for sentence before Mr J. K. Paterson, SM Two ot the youths, Johnny Poihakens Jackson, aged 20. and Matchatt Haki. aged 20. were each sentenced to seven days' gaol. The third. Keri Wright Stephens, aged 18, who was •sad to have played “a major pari” in the assault, was sentenced to borstal training. In the assault Sergeant Colin Graham received cracked ribs, blackened eyes and was severely bruised Constable Peter Waiter Thomas Rosewarne was severely bruised.
