PHYSICAL WELFARE GRANTS ANNOUNCED

WELLINGTON, Jan. 28. Grants for 1963 amounting to £12,300 under the Physical Welfare and Recreation Act were announced today by the Minister at Internal Affairs (Mr Goto). They •re: Young Men's Christian Association (national council), £5OOO. Young Women’s Christian Association (national council). £3750. Youth Council, National Council of Churches, £1500; to assist leadership training courses for affiliated youth organisations. Catholic Youth Movement, £500; to encourage and help develop recreational leadership trainunc. New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, £250; to assist in conducting a national coaches school held annually to increase participants at dub level and raise standard at national level. Youth Hostel Association of New Zealand, £400; for maintaining ct wring build-
inoß and assisting with new structures.
Toe H of New Zealand. £300; to assist In establishing boys’ clubs throughout the country. Every Boys’ and Every Giris’ Rally Groups, £2OO. New Zealand University Students’ Association, £2OO. Federated Mountain Clubs of New Zealand, £2OO.
