Blenheim Team In Lead (N.Z. Preet Association) INVERCARGILL. Jan. 28. The Blenheim schoolboys’ representative crieket team is leading In the South Island schoolboys' tournament being held in Invercargill after two outright wins in the first two days. Today, the Blenheim team beat Eastern Southland, scoring 139 without loss before declaring and then dismissing Eastern Southland for 40 to force a follow-on. In the second innings the rout was complete and Eastern Southland was all out for 11. Blenheim now has an excellent chance of winning the tournament, as it will not have to meet Canterbury A, another strong team which has done well. Scores:— Blenheim: first innings. 139 for no wickets declared (W. Heisenbuttle 78 not out, R. Simpson 57 not out). Eastern Southland: first innings 40. second innings 11 (N. MeLalne took nine wickets for 27 runs over both innings). Canterbury A: first Innings, 75 (H. Joseph 32. B. Miller 18; B. Galagah five for 19. B. Rawlinson two for 15). Otago: first innings 32 (P. Sharapoof 9; K Geary five for 17, N. Walker four for 4). Canterbury: second innings, 42 for two declared (H. Joseph 12 not out. Geary 17). Otago: second innings, 42 for four at stumps (Sharapoof 18 not out: Geary two for 18. Walker one for 0). Canterbury B: first Innings. 93 (B. O'Sullivan 27. B. Clark 17, B. Penny 15: W. Car Rolls Over.—Concussion and grazes were suffered by Walter Hutton, of 27 Everest street, when a car in which he was a passenger rolled over in Wairakei road about 12.35 am. on Saturday. He was treated ait the Christchurch Hospital.
