DUNEDIN, January 27. “Whait a wonderful little horse he is. He’s just like a machine.” said the president of Yonkers Raceway. Mr Tananbaum is on his fourth annual “talent quest” for pacers and trotters in New Zealand and Australia “This is the third time I have seen Lordship winning Two years ago at Addington I saw him as a two-year-old and then last year he won in Dunedin. You can’t help but be impressed by hijn.” be said. Mr Tananbaum also thought Chief Vitesse had great potential The New Zealandbred five-year-old was a very strong horse, he said, and looked likely to be one of the leading contenders for Inter - Dominion Championship honours in Adelaide next month.
"T’m looking forward to seeing him racing against Cardigan Bay from level marks at Adelaide, while their clash in the £5OOO Summer Cup at Harold Park next week should also be a thriller "
He hopes to secure two or three pacers and perhaps a trotter or two to contest international series for horses of both gaits later in the year The international pacing series would be run on May 2. 9 and 16
No definite programme had been drawn up for the series but it would probably be
similar to those of other years The longer distances had proved most successful and they would be continued Messrs Tananbaum and Rudd travelled to Christchurch today to have discussions with owners and trainers in the Canterbury district
Mr Tananbaum will travel to Wellington on Tuesday to have discussions with the Totalisator Agency Board about electronic equipment from Sweden and he will be back in Dunedin on Thursday.
