CONFERENCE ON EXPORTS

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 27. The hope that the export development conference to be held in May thia year will ■park off public interest and support for New Zealand's export efforts was expressed by members of the Trade Promotion Council at its meeting today. The council’s chairman, the Minister of Overseas Trade (Mr Marshall), said he was sure this would not be just a “talking conference.’’ It would decide on positive action which could be taken to encourage exports. Representatives of all sections of the community interested in exporting would be invited to take part In the conference. These would include representatives of primary as well as fiecondary industry. Basy Pert—Auckland will
have acute shipping congestion this week. AJI berths were taken on Saturday and by thia evening there will be five other overseas Ships in the stream.—(P.A.)
