Dolamars Again At Ellerslie

AUCKLAND, January 27. The Takanini gelding. Dolamars, won his second open handicap from his last three starts when he took the Anniversary Cup at the Auckland Racing Club's meeting at Ellerslie yesterday. In a thrilling finish he beat Glen Count by a head, with the favourite, Taumai, three-quarters of a length back third. With half a mile to run in the Anniversary Cup. Jovic was a length and a half clear. Marendellas headed the chase, followed by Glen Count, Dolamars. Red Robe, Taumai, Gullfax and Woodlore. Jovtc still led coming to the straight, but the field started to close on him. Glen Count lodged a challenge and Dolamars was also making ground. Taumai was appearing wide out, but he was still a fair way back. DOlomars and Glen Count came clear at the half-furlong, with Dolamars gaining the honours, Taumai w finished on strongly, but too late for third. Then came Jovte, Marendellas, Woodlore and Red Robe.
