HOSPITAL’S PROBLEMS
Govt. Proposal “Impossible”

INVERCARGILL, Jan. 27. The chairman of the Southland Hospital Board (Mr J. A Cuehen) said today that it would be impossible to solve the shortage of house surgeons at Kew Hospital by co-opting tfae part-time services of local practitioners as the Minister of Health (Mr McKay) had suggested In a telegram to the board. “I discussed the possibility of co-opting more local practitioners some months ago, and was told it was impossible to get any more local men to help.” Mr Cushen said.
Most local practitioners were busy wttti their practices and could not give any more time than they already did.
