7 Miners Die, 7 Hurt
C.VZP.A.-Reuter —Copyright) AACHEN (West Germany), December 14. Seven miners died and seven were injured when a blast ripped through the 1800 feet deep Adolf coal mine at Merkstein today. Abou-t 25 other miners, working near where the explosion occurred, escaped. Experts are probing the cause of the blast which ignited oil used to feed a generator. The mine, near the Dutch border, is the largest in the Aachen coal basin and employs 2289. the Associated Press reported.
