RESCISSION SOUGHT
Part Of Trusts Bill (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 16. ‘‘The New Zealand Alliance is asking Parliament to rescind part four of the Licensing Trusts Amendment Bill," the Alliance’s general superintendent (Mr J. G. Young) said today. “This part of the bill subjugates the rights of electors in the remaining no-licence areas to the advantage of the liquor traffic should they vote restoration of licences,” he said. “In spite of the statements of the Minister of Justice and certain members of Parliament during the second reading of the bill, the Licensing Trusts Association does not give unqualified support to this part of the bill."
