£l4OO Allotted By Foundation The Canterbury Medical Research ’ Foundataon has agreed to meet the full cost of a vapour fractameter for the Full Time • Medical Unit of the Princess Margaret Hospital, the secretary of the foundation (Mr A. W. Mann) announced last week. The estimated cost is about £ 1400. The foundation has decided to make a big drive soon for subscribing members to maintain its work, Mr Mann added. The target for the drive is 1000 new subscribing members next year. The present subscribing membership is j jst below 700, and the annual subscription £2 2s. The purpose of the vapour fractometer is stated by the director of the unit (Dr. D W. Beaven) to be “to explore the use of various detectors for separating small amounts of individual ketosteroids in human peripheral plasma.”
