Mexicans May Visit N.Z.
(NX. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Dec. 5. Mexico has offered to send its Davis Cup tennis challengers to Auckland next week but a clash of dates with the Wellington championships is preventing immediate acceptance of the offer. The Mexican team of R. Osuna and A. Palafox is prepared to come here on December 14, 15, 16 and 17 but L. A. Gerrard and I. S. Crookenden are committed to the Wellington championships on December 8,9, 15, and 16. Late today the Auckland association was to telephone the Mexicans in Madras to suggest they alter the dates by either coming earlier or the week-end after that proposed. It is thought the Mexicans want to gain grass court experience before the challenge round in Brisbane on December 26, 27, and 28.
