5000 Affected In Auckland
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Dec. 5. More than 5000 people who depend on the suburban rail service to take them to work in ■ the Auckland city area will be affected tomorrow by the 48-hour rail stoppage. A Railways Department spokesman said tonight the suburban passenger services normally carried about 11,000 passengers each day into and out of the city. None of the 112 trains which run each day would be in operation until after the stoppage ended. Tomorrow, about 250 goods and passenger trains which were to have been leaving or arriving in Auckland will not run.
