FRAUD AND RECEIVING
Nine Months’ Gaol Mr Justice Macarthur yesterday sentenced Robert Gourley, aged 26, a workman (Mr R. L. Kerr) to a total of nine months’ gaol for receiving stolen property, false pretences, and attempted false pretences. Gourley had been convited by a jury on November 5 on the receiving charge and by another jury on November 26 on one of the false pretences charges. He had pleaded guilty to two charges of false pretences and one of attempted false pretences.
His Honour ordered that Gourley’s prison sentence be followed by one year’s probation during which he must abstain from liquor and take out a prohibition order.
