THREE INJURED AT TIMARU

Road Accidents During Week-end (From Our Own Reporter) TIMARU, November 25. One of three persons admitted to the Timaru Hospital during the week-end as a result of injuries suffered in road accidents, was reported to tie in a serious condition late this evening, although it showed an improvement on that at time of admission. He is Eric William Brady, aged 20, of 75 Craigie avenue, Timaru, who suffered internal injuries when the powercycle he was riding was involved in a collision with a truck driven north along Evans street by Mr Lex Reid Ashton, aged 27, of 21 Nile street. The accident occurred about 11 a.m. on Saturday. Car and Taxi Collide The driver and passenger of a car were also taken to hospital by a St. John ambulance and admitted after a collision between a car and a taxi at 12.35 a.m. today. The driver of the car, Charles William Wakefield, aged 27, of 189 Otipua road. Timaru, suffered internal injuries. His condition was described this evening as fair.

His passenger, Miss Joan White, care of the Grosvenor Hotel, Timaru, suffered a lacerated scalp. Her condition was repotted as satisfactory The taxi was driven by William Fairlie Southby, aged 40. of Beverley road. He suffered minor injuries and abrasions. The accident occurred at the corner of Grey road and Church street. The car rolled down hill after the collision

and came to rest against a parked car. The taxi crashed through a fence in Church street. Both vehicles were extensively damaged.
