Five Killed On U.K. Ship

(N.Z J> A .-Reuter—Copyright) ANGLESEY (Wales). November 20. Five men were killed on board the Royal Navy aircraft carrier Centaur in a serious high pressure steam leak in the boiler room, the Admiralty announced today. Earlier the Admiralty had said the incident was only a minor one. The Admiralty said rescue operations were under way to bring any injured ashore from the carrier, which is at anchor off the north coast of Wales. The Admiralty said later that damage caused in the boiler room had been repaired and Centaur was fully operational. The five dead were understood to be all those on duty in the boiler room. A private inquiry would be held.
