Sellwood’s Job In France

Australia’s top jockey, G Moore, is considering accepting an attractive offer to ride in France next season.
Moore said in an interview today that the offer was ftom the Alex Head stable for whom he rode successlully two years ago. The late Neville Sellwood rode for the Head stable for the last two seasons and headed the premiership list in the season just ended. The French ownen Mr P. Wertheimer, acting Mr himself and the Aga Kh»n, rang Moore at his Sydney home on Saturday night and made the offer.
"My offer carried a big retainer and 10 per jent. of all stake money that is first, second, third and folrth, and all expenses paid,’’/,Moore said today. i Moore said ttat in Australia he received only 10 per cent, of winning stakes, and rarely received any expenses when riding at Inter-State carnivals. He said he would not make a firm decision about accepting the offer until he studied all the details, which will arrive by mail in the next week.
“The ’pXone line was bad and kept (fading, but I have asked them to set out their conditions so that I can have a good Icok at them,’’ Moore said.
