ACCIDENT LIABILITY
Investigation Progress (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 19. Questioned today as to the work of the committee on absolute liability, the Solici-tor-General (Mr H. R. C Wild. QC.). who is chairman of the committee, said that since the committee had been appointed on September 4. it had made considerable progress with this inquiry. Notices inviting submissions had been published in the press and written submissions had been received from a number of interested individuals and organisations. Reports of similar inquiries conducted in overseas countries had been received and were being studied by members In accordance with a decision of the committee, detailed statistics bearing on various aspects of the order of reference were being assembled. Mr Wild said that the committee was ready to receive personal attendances in support of submissions and had arranged for the representations of the New Zealand Law Society and the motor unions to be made at a meeting in Wellington on February 11.
