MINOR FIRES
A grass fire on the property of Mr W. Carlton, 10 Shands road, Hornby, was attended by one unit from the Sockbum station at 9.50 a.m. yesterday. A fire in a haystack on the farm of Donald Leslie, Wincote’s road, Halswell, was extinguished by one unit from the Sockburn station at 10.45 aun.
One unit from the Sydenham station attended a fire in some grass and a detached garden shed at the home of Roy West, 51A Aotea terrace. Huntsbury, at 12.4 p.m. An oven fire at the home of Anne Arney, 39 Church lane, Merivale, was attended by a unit from the St Albans station at 12.34 p.m. A fire in the rubbish dump of the Heathcote County Council in Centaurus road was extinguished by a unit from the Sydenham station at 4.15 p.m.
