COMBINED EXERCISE
Army And Air Force (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 8. Twenty-six Royal N£w Zealand Air Force aircraft will take part in “Reflex One,” a combined Army and Air Force exercise from Ohakea to Napier and across to Waiouru in the next two weeks. The preliminary stages of the exercise began yesterday when the first of 336 troops were taken from Christchurch to Ohakea by R.N.Z./..F. aircraft.
The exercise proper is not scheduled to begin until next Monday, when troops of the Ist Infantry Brigade will prepare to be flown from Ohakea to Napier. Their initial role will be to support civil power in a counter-insurgency operation Then there will be a limited war defensive battle “fought” in the Waiouru area at the closing stage of the exercise.
