LECTURES BY LAND-LINE

Best Use Of Brief Visit (N4L Prw Auoeiation) AUCKLAND, Nov. 4, One of America's leading obstetricians. Professor Gordon Douglas, of Cornell University. has arrived in New Zealand to lecture doctors all over the North Island without moving from Hamilton or Auckland. Professor Douglas's four lectures will be transmitted by land-line to as many as 10 other centres at once in the coming week. Slides to illustrate the lectures will be screened simultaneously in each centre and doctors from any centre will be able to ask questions over the land-line. As part of the network, each centre will be able to hear all the questions and answers from all the other centres. “This is the best possible way of making use of my brief time in New Zealand,” said Professor Douglas, when he arrived at Whenuapai with Mrs Douglas on Saturday. Professor Douglas, who is professor of obstetrics and gynaecology at the Cornell University Medical School and New York Hospital, will leave for New York next Saturday.
