Decline In Last Year

Building in Hals well county had declined considerably in the lost year, said the retiring chairman of the Hakwell County Council (Mr H. Cox) in bis report at the annual meeting yesterday. Of this amount, he said, four-sevenths would be contribiited by the council and the remaining threesevenths. a £9OOO subsidy, was payable by the National Roads Board. Mr Cox said that the council ended the year to March 31. 1962. with a credit balance of £6272. Income from all sources totalled £40.064 8s 3d. He said expenditure during the same period was £43,117. Mr Cox said the council at present was working on overdraft but the bulk of the rates had still to come in.
