MATAMATA. September 18. R. N. Thornett. the big lock forward with the touring Australian team, said tonight that he had no intention of switching from Rugby Union. Thornett was commenting on a report from Sydney that he was to be made a lucrative offer from the powerful Sydney Rugby League club. Parramatta.

Thornett. the younger brother of the Wallaby captain. John Thornett, and also of Australian League player, Ken Thornett. said he had heard nothing of the reported offer. “It's all news to me,” he said. The Parramatta club treasurer, Mr J. Argent, said in Sydney today that no offer had been made yet to Thornett. “We did not want to jeopardise his New Zealand tour this season and we did not see any good asking him to switch codes half way through the season," he said.
