Otago Competitors Most Successful

(From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, Aug. 26.

Otago competitors were the most successful at the first New Zealand junior boxing championships held in Greymouth on Friday and Saturday. They won tour titles. Canterbury and Hawke s Bay each won two championships, and one member of the Canterbury team. B. Kendall, was awarded the Somerville trophy for the most scientific boxer at the tournament.

Apart from these successes, the honours were well divided as Southland. Waimate. Manawatu. Hawke's Bay. Feilding and Gisborne each gainted one title.

Kendall was particularly impressive, as in both his bouts he was scarcely marked. Of the Otago representatives, S. Scoles was outstanding, but the Berge brothers also showed much promise.

Special trophies were awarded by a supporter of the Greymouth Boxing Association to the winner and runner-up in the lightest division: R. Carstairs (Canterbury) and S. Brace (Hawke's Bay).
