WAREHOUSE ROBBED
Money, Jewels, Watches Taken

About £3OO in money and an unknown quantity of jewellery and watches were stolen when a sixth-floor strongroom was rifled at the warehouse of L. D. Nathan and Company. Ltd., in Fort street, on Sunday. The theft was discovered late las’ night when the caretaker, Mr M. Morris, returned after being away all day. It is believed the burglars entered the building by way of the seventh-floor fire escape. They forced a small office safe and obtained keys to the strongroom on that floor. Several safes were opened in the strongroom and an unsuccessful attempt made to force open another. The glass face of a keybox in the strongroom was smashed and keys taken to a strongroom containing jewellery and money on the sixth floor. A ca®hbux containing about £3OO was opened with a sledgehammer Last night executives of the company were unable to say how much jewellery was missing.
