Fishing Dinghy Capsized

A young married woman died in a boating mishap in Waikawa Bay, near Picton. about midnight on Friday She was
Mrs Bettv Susan Swain, aged 34. wife of Mr G. E Swain, of Blenheim.
Mrs Swam, accompanied by Mr and Mrs C. T. Kinzett and Mr Rex Gallon, all of Blenheim, were garfishing about 50 yards from the shore when the dinghy they were in capsized. The men swam ashore and Mr s Kinzett. after clinging to the upturned boat. was rescued by two youths in a dinghy, who later recovered Mrs Swain’s body The mishap w r as witnessed by Mr Swam, who was watching their expedition from Mr and Mrs Kinzett’s house, w’here he and his wife and young daughter were spending a holiday Mr Sw’ain dashed down to the beach and tried to launch another dinghy but w’as unable to move it
