Party Of 24 On Visit

The popularity of New Zealand's ski grounds has spread to New Caledonia. A party of 24 French people arrived at Whenuapai today by T.A.I. airliner on the first organised skiing trip from Noumea.
The party left later in the afternoon for Christchurch and will go on to Queenstown. where they will spend several days’ skiing at Coronet Peak.
Many members of the party have never seen snow or done any ski-ing in their lives.
The party is being led by Professor J. Laplange. an English teacher at College La Perouse in Noumea
