BLUE, RED, YELLOW
Man’s Change Of Colour
(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, August 23
A labourer. Mr John O'Toole, aged 32, who turned blue, red and yellow on the bus home from his job at ’lmperial Chemical Industries yesterday was back to normal colouring last night. Mr O'Toole received injections at the Oldham Royal Infirmary, Lancashire, to remove his rainbow colouring which caused people to stare at him all the way home in the bus. An official of the chemical factory in Huddersfield. Yorkshire, said Mr O'Toole had been working with a yellow chemical. The labour officer, Mr A. N. Young, said it seemed that some of the chemical must have got down the protective gauntlets Mr O’Toole was wearing.
This had, it seemed, turned Mr O’Toole's hands yellowpenetrating the skin to cause mild cyanosis, which was why his face turned blue. But there was no chemical explanation for his ears turning red—unless it was arhbarrassment.
