Steady Level For Lamb (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 24. Steady demand for New Zealand meat continued on London’s Smithfield market this week, with prices for the main grade of lamb almost unchanged, lighter weights firmer and heavier weights easier, according to the Meat Board ’ market information service. There was steady trading in moderate supplies of home-killed lamb at 20d to 26d per lb. Prices for New Zealand meat ex hooks Smithfield, in the week ended August 24 with the variation since the previous week, are quoted as follows: CANTERBURY LAMB
Boner Beef Price Up
All weights and grades of boner beef have risen 5s in the latest export meat schedule. Prices to operate from Monday are boner cow, ox and heifer 92s 6d per 1001 b, boner bull 122 s 6d and overfait boner cow, ox and heifer 62s 6d. Other grades and weight of beef are unchanged.
