Queen Makes Dazzling Picture At Theatre

The crowds who waited to see Queen Sirikit of Thailand go to the Royal concert at the Civic Theatre last evening were rewarded by a magnificent picture of Her Majesty in diamonds, mink and an elegant silver and blue evening .gown.

In turquoise blue brocade, patterned to a heavy silver traditional design, her long, gently flared frock had a weist-lengtflh matching jacket with wide bands of silver mink edging tlhe braceletlength sleeves. She wore a white mink stole, silver blue brocade shoes and white gloves. The Queen’s black hair was dressed in a high topknot with a diamond hairclasp above her brow. Her necklace, pendant earrings and wide bracelet sparkled with diamonds.

Her Majesty, who is suffering from a cold, did not take off her jacket before entering the theatre. Princess Vibhavadi Rangsit, the Queen’s sister and lady-in-waiting, wore a gown of maize-gold satin made with a cross-over top, narrow shoulder straps and a long, flared skirt.
