Situation.—A trough of low pressure extends on to the North Island from a depression centred near the Chatham Islands. An anti-cyclone has developed over the South Island. Forecast:—
Canterbury.—Winds light to moderate and variable, north-easterlies developing on the coast this afternoon; partly cloudy; moderate afternoon temperatures. Outlook: fine. Marlborough.—Fresh southerlies on the coast; a few showers this morning; light winds and partly cloudy weather elsewhere; temperatures cool. Outlook: fine.
Nelson and the West Coast.—Light or moderate winds, mainly easterlies; mainly fine but some isolated showers likely in the ranges; moderate temperatures. Outlook: fine.
