Golf UNIMPRESSIVE FINAL
Maori Title To Godfrev w (N.Z. Press Association) NAPIER. August 23 The New Zealand international. W. J. Godfrey, won the Maori golf title al Napier today in an unimpressive fins). He beat J. Matehaera (Te Awamutu), 4 and 3. and appeared to be playing at only half pressure Godfrey lost two holes through penalties—once when Matehaera's tee shot hit Godfrey's bag and again when he plucked grass around his ball where it lay. The women’s final was won by Mrs A. Mullany (Napier), who defeated Miss M. Winterburn (Otakl). 4 and 3. Both played steady, unspectacular golf, and there was little tn ths round to excite spectators.
