EXTENSIONS TO FERNWOOD

Gilt Of £2OO From

Clothes Shop

The twenty-eighth annual clothes shop will be held this year in the Caledonian Haff towards the end of September. Arrangements for it were made at a recent meeting of the committee held in the Plunket Society’s rooms with Mrs Janet Williams presiding. As the proceeds from these shops for 27 years have been used to help the blind and needy, the committee decided to make a donaitaon of £2OO for proposed urgentlyneeded extensions to Femwood, the hostel for the blind, to provide more accommodation.

Letters of thanks were received from several recipients of coal and warm clothing during the winter.

Stalls and stall-holders were allotted as follows: Frocks,' Mrs Ivan Wood and Lady Clark-Hall; tweeds. Mrs J. C. Newton; men’s clothing, Mrs ... W. Cargill; furnishings. Mrs le C. Latter; hats. Miss N. Enright and Mrs Williams; children’s clothes, Mrs D. V. Donaldson and Mrs V. Hamilton; shoes. Mrs E. J. Cordner; antiques. Mrs L. A. Bennett and Mo J. Keith Davidson; refreshments, Mrs Gordon McCredie and Mrs Erls Millton; publicity, Mrs Malcolm Gray and Mrs Williams.
