Profit Of £494 For Year

After providing £256 for depreciation, a profit of £494 on the year’s operations was shown in the annual report and balance sheet of the Hororata Trotting Club, which was presented to members at the annual genera! meeting. The gross totalisator turnover at the annual race meeting on January 27 was £45.173 15s. of which £26,785 10s was invested on the course. Profit from the race meeting amounted to £1272 Inquiries had been made for the use of the mobile starting gates by the club Mr L. S. Smart, president of the Canterbury Park Trotting Club, said that he would be prepared t„ make the gates available to the Hororata Trotting Club. It was moved and seconded that the starting gates should be used if possible and that the secretary and president should report to the next meeting. The following officers were elected:—Patron, Mr E. H. Sime; president, Mr O. J. Watson: vice - presidents, Messrs L. T. Derrett, R. Dorman, J. O. Ferguson, T. D. Jarman, A. R. Murray, W R. Oliver, E. R J. Stewart and M.
