Award For Policeman
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Aug. 22. The detection and subsequent arrest of 10 people charged with 58 burglaries has earned the Certificate of Merit for Detective-Sergeant J. F. Collins, of the Wellington C. 1.8.
Chief Superintendent G. A. Howes presented the certificate at a ceremony. i Detective-Sergeant Collins was solely responsible for the detection and subsequent arrest of 10 youths who carried out burglaries and other offences on the west coast of Wellington. The offences were committed over a period of 18 months and involved theft of property and money to the value of £1127.
