Loss Of £313 Last Year
A loss of £313 on the year's operations is shown in the annual report and balance sheet of the Greymouth Jockey Club to be presented to members at the annual meeting on September S. Total revenue for the year rose £4Bl to £0482. while general expenses dropped from £10.790 to £9796. The club's net return from a totalisator turnover of £19.789 was £3060 compared with £3446 on a turnover of £16.611 the previous year. The payout from the Totalisator Agency Board also showed an increase. The income from this source amounted to £3204 compared with £2700 the previous year There had been considerable development in the club's farming activities during the year, states the report of the president, Mr E C Berry. This is reflected in the livestock account which shows an expenditure of £2455. Sales amounted to £lOB7 while the stock at balance date was valued at £1166.
Farming operations for the year accounted for £202 of the total loss of £313.
The summer meeting this season will be held on December 1 and 3 and the autumn meeting on February 21 and 23.
