Coalminer Killed

(N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL, Aug. 16. A coalminer was killed instantly by a fall of coal in the Linton mines today. He was: Llewellyn John David Bpkser, aged 43. of Ohai, married with three children. A man working nearby was not injured.

Maori Boys Bidden Farewell

Maori boys of St. Stephen’s School. Auckland, completed their goodwill and educational tour of the South Island yesterday afternoon at a farewell function held in their honour at St. John’s Church. Latimer square.

The 31 boys sang evensong in Maori at the church and were later entertained to tea by friends, pupils of Te Wai Pounamu Maori Girls' College, and the St. John's Maori Club.
