Adventures Of Toad
The Canterbury Children’s Theatre’s production of “Toad of Toad Hall,” A. A. Milne’s adaptation of Kenneth Grahame’s “The Wind in the Willows,” will be presented from August 25 to September 1, in the Repertory Theatre. Milne's adaptation of Grahame’s classic deals with the portions concerning the adventures of the weakwilled, conceited Toad, who steals cars, escapes from prison, and returns to assist his friend in regaining Toad Hall from the usurping ferrets. weasels and stoats. Yvette Bromley is producing the play. Toad is played by Trevor Pitt, Rat by John Batstone, Mole by Bernice Macaleer, and Badger by Fred Betts. All these players have been associated with the Canterbury Children’s Theatre before. Betty Saxelby is the stage manager and John Hendry designed the many sets. The masks for the animals were made by George Worthington and Joy de Thier is responsible for the costumes.
