Man Hurt In Accident (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) LONDON, July 31. A trawlerman, Mr Brian Smith, left his home in Hull, Yorkshire ,a month ago on a fishing cruise with a Yorkshire accent and only a smattering of Norwegian. He arrived back three days ago with a fluent command of Norwegian and only a smattering of broken English. The strange transformation happened after an accident at sea. said the “Daily Sketch.” Mr Smith was hit on the head by swinging tackle and was landed at Vardo, Norway, and operated on for a fractured skull. When he came round after being unconscious for two days he took to Norwegian as his natural language. Yesterday he was learning to write English again with the help of his wife, Barbara, aged 27. It was just like "another man coming home to me,” she said, according to the “Daily Sketch.”
